When the United States Military decided it needed to improve its General Mechanics Tool Kit (GMTK),it detailed a strict set of requirements based on user input and needs. The kit needed to provide a variety of tools for the repair and maintenance of multiple types of military vehicles and equipment for the Army and Marines with the highest durability and strength produced in the U.S.
To achieve this, the U.S. Military chose lead contractor Armstrong Tools, a brand within APEX Tool Group, that included a consortium with Pelican Products and UFP Technologies to build the most durable mobile tool kits for the harsh and versatile conditions U.S. troops face.
